BIOGRAPHY
In
writing, as in life, Heidi Priesnitz values clarity, passion, depth,
balance, sensuality and innovation.
Heidi’s
writing credits include two novels: A Darker Light (The Dundurn
Group, 2003) and Drifting (Boiling Kettle Press, 2000), as
well as a collection of thirteen short stories entitled Tangled
with Leaves (Boiling Kettle Press, 1998). Her poetry and radio
drama have been aired nationally on CBC Radio. Heidi’s writing has also
appeared in literary journals such as Grain and Descant. In 2002, she
was awarded a Creation Grant from the Nova Scotia Arts Council to work
on her novel, A Darker Light.
Since 1994 Heidi has lived in Wolfville, Nova Scotia
with her partner, musician Ken
Shorley. In addition to her writing, Heidi runs her own graphic
design studio, HiDesign, where she creates print materials (ads, posters, brochures, post cards, logos), as well as websites and animated features.
Other
passions include macro photography, vector illustration, tea drinking and blending, complex spices, Indian textiles, Turkish rhythms and the Javanese Gamelan.
